Honing Mandrel - Honing Mandrels
The concept of "simplified honing" was developed by Superior over 50
years ago, and except for minor changes, is still performed using the
same components...mandrels, stones, and sleeves.
The Permanent Superior Mandrel
With the Superior honing system, only the stones come in contact with
the work surface. The mandrel is simply a carrier for the stones. This
method assures long mandrel life.
Concentric Mandrels
A mandrel runs concentric on a Superior Honing Machine. This smoother
action means higher precision and less operator fatigue.
Mandrel Range
Superior mandrels are made to take the nominal fraction range from .060
to 3.5 inches. (Larger mandrels subject to quote.)
